Lesson 3 The volume and point of view
Maybe you can experiment some kind of complication in trying to draw the log and the head of the figure when it doesn’t show the front totally. If you want to give the sensation that the figure is at ¾ profiles and also inclined down or up you should have in count some points with respect of the deformation of the medium line by the perspective cause. We will try to do this simple: We have said the ball is somewhat curved but not much, it represents the log and a similar one but a little bit smaller to simulate the head. To see the effect that this causes when these figures change position we suggest arm a simple element and useful that will help you understand this theme: Get a ball or make with putty o some moldable element. Later mark a line circling all circumferences. Once you do this, hold it in your hand and elevate it to the height of your eyes and if you observe directly in front you will see something like this (Fig. 1):
